Coolum & North Shore Coast Care Launch their Stunning 2016 Photographic Calendar

Coolum and North Shore Coast Care (CaNSCC) launches its fifth annual calendar, at 10am September 19 2015, at the Mitre 10 Hardware, Williams St Coolum Beach. It’s an opportunity to buy a calendar and enjoy a fund-raising sausage sizzle BBQ.

This beautiful calendar featuring 57 stunning images of local Sunshine Coast natural scenes continues the tradition of celebrating our local environment by CaNSCC.

Each year the calendar explores a new theme, conveying stories from the Sunshine Coast. The 2016 calendar’s focus ‘patterns in nature’ advocates using ‘backyards to become green corridors for local wildlife’. Included in 2016 is a 10,000 year-old legend featuring iconic geographical formations, monthly themes on reflections and nature as art: underwater patterns, circles, stars and stripes.

This professional publication is designed to not only bolster funding at the local not-for-profit coast care group, but to also engage the talented people in our midst. It’s a true grassroots’ initiative made by locals, for locals. Heading up this year’s calendar initiative is Diane Goodwillie, supported by Robyn Peters, Steve Cook, Dorothy Hookway, Bronwyn Vaughan and Sheryl Wright.

“The final product is the outcome of many, many volunteer hours and the proceeds go towards keeping Coolum and North Shore Coast Care operating. We’re making a difference on the coast,” Ms Peters said.

The calendar is not only a high-calibre photographic record of our natural surrounds, but a beautiful gift idea for locals, businesses and tourists. The quality of photographs is truly what makes this calendar a stand-out product. An impressive 45 local photographers contributed their images, which made final selection a tough decision-making process. The youngest contributor was Liam Previti, ten-years-of-age from Peregian Beach (pictured).

The calendar invites the local community to further appreciate our local environment. It raises awareness of the vulnerability of the biodiversity in the coastal environment, and encourages new members to join CaNSCC, as either active or non-active members.

CaNSCC urges everyone to become a ‘calendar ambassador’ selling to friends and colleagues. Each year more calendars are printed, but numbers are limited, so get in quick. Local businesses, such as Coolum Beach Real Estate, have generously offered to become voluntary sales outlets to the community, see the full list at www.coolumcoastcare.org.au
