History of Coolum Beach Real Estate and Rebrand- Press Release

A NEW chapter has started in the story of the longest running real estate agency in Coolum Beach. In 1969 at the site of the current Element on Coolum (formerly the Coolum Beach Caravan Park) stood a small shared office named Eric Lloyd Real Estate.

With the ever-increasing client demand, the agency quickly outgrew their tiny, beachside premises and in 1979 the office moved to its current site as Wayne Roberts Real Estate. In 1987 Lorraine Cush purchased the business and proudly operated as The Professionals then later branded to Coolum Beach Real Estate.

In late 2014 Lorraine retired, selling the business, which is now under new ownership and management. The team of Cara de Ryk and Steve Lane together with Al and Leigh Bruschweiler look forward to assisting with all property needs including sales and rentals.

The change took place on New Year’s Eve with Lorraine ringing the bell to herald the occasion.
Steve Lane said they were respectful of it being the longest running real estate agency in Coolum Beach with such a strong history in the community.

“It is a matter of locals who know the business and will continue to run the business.
“The agency has had strong community involvement and we intend to continue and expand that.
“We are a sponsor of Coolum-North Shore Coast Care and are looking at some exciting new initiatives there.’’

Steve is an active member at Coolum Beach Surf Life Saving Club while fellow sales agent John Roderick is club president.

Kate Tomba, who is Lorraine’s daughter, has been business development officer and property manager for 13 years and is also an active surf club member.

Coolum Beach Real Estate has more than 220 properties under management. “What excites us is the solid base of the business and the overwhelming response from local owners who have been congratulating us and offering their ongoing support’’ Steve said.

“The feedback from the rebranding signs has been fantastic. It ‘s fresh and captures the coast feel. “The office fit-out will follow.’’ The outlook for the Coolum property market is equally bright.

The Team – Under new ownership

“After consecutive years of weak market conditions, 2014 was a fantastic year for the property market in the Coolum Beach area,’’ Steve said, “exceeding many of our expectations. “There is a lot of speculation about what 2015 will bring and the Coolum area is already shaping up well with strong demand from buyers.

“I believe it represents great value with it’s coastal village lifestyle, large areas of surrounding national park and easy location to Noosa and Maroochydore could mean that Coolum continues to perform strongly in 2015. “Smart buyers are realising the future value of properties close to the surf club and Esplanade shops and cafes while only a few kilometres south the suburbs of Mount Coolum and Marcoola are growing in popularity as buyers looking for value discover the natural beauty of the area with unspoilt beaches and great walking and cycling tracks on offer.’’
