Eco Tips to assist around the home!

Some Simple Eco Tips to assist around the home

  • Run fans instead of air conditioning to help move the air around
  • Collect rainwater, and use it to water your houseplants and garden.
  • Donate to—and shop at— charity stores. You’ll be recycling perfectly usable items, you’ll be supporting your local economy, and you’ll be saving money.
  • Turn off lights when you leave the room
  • Line dry your laundry
  • Replace old shower heads with WELLS rated and approved versions for water efficiency
  • Turn off your computer completely at night
  • Get some pet worms and start feeding them all your kitchen vegie scraps
  • Recycle – Remember all your soft plastics like oats and pasta packets can be recycled locally at Woolies and Coles Coolum drop points
  • Run your dishwasher in “off-peak hours” (usually the middle of the night), you’ll be reducing peak energy demand on the grid.
  • Change to LED bulbs – Not only do LED light bulbs last longer than conventional bulbs, they’re far more efficient too!
  • Buy Local – the closer to home these products are made and bought, the less carbon is created with their transportation
