Jack Morgan Park Update | Coolum Beach

Coolum-Beach-Civic-Centre As we approach the 17 September completion date of Stage One construction for the Jack Morgan Park Upgrade Project, we would like to thank all traders, local community members, and visitors for your patience during the construction period.

Special thanks to the staff and customers/clients of the Coolum Library, Coolum Civic Centre, Coolum Community Centre and C&K Childcare, plus adjacent residents and businesses, for your ongoing cooperation since construction began in February 2015.  Thanks also to Bendigo Bank for its generous contribution of $50,000 toward the cost of the Coolum Civic Centre improvements as part of the project.

The $1.1m Stage One works of the Jack Morgan Park Upgrade project has delivered:

  • Improvements to the Park Street access road and car parking areas
  • New footpaths that link Park Street to Frank and Perry Streets, and the library to the Civic Centre
  • Significant improvements to stormwater connections, road works and kerbing
  • New lighting in the Coolum Library, Park Street and Jack Morgan Park car park areas
  • Approximately 2000 new trees and shrubs planted and the construction of rock walls and pathways throughout the park precinct as part of landscaping works
  • New park furniture including new park seats, platform seating, rubbish bins, directional signage, bicycle racks and drinking fountains
  • Significant improvements to the Coolum Civic Centre including a new entry statement, new outdoor seating, new signage, new external wall treatments (rendering and cladding), structural improvements and extensive renovations to the foyer, toilets, kitchen and meeting room areas.

Please note that from 17 September, the through-access for vehicles from David Low Way-Park Street entry/exit to the Elizabeth Street- Park Street entry/exit will be open with all car parking reinstated according to original time limits.

Future stages (Stages Two – Four) of the Jack Morgan Park Upgrade Project are expected to take place between 2016 and 2019. These stages will be subject to available funding.

Once again, we thank you for your patience during the Stage One works and invite you to visit the ‘new look’ Jack Morgan Park precinct soon.
